 Research work is a mandatory integral part of the training of qualified specialists. An important achievement of the department is the participation of teaching staff in scientific projects. At the Faculty of Teaching and Learning Department, scientific research is carried out within the framework of projects of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and other grants.

2021 year before

It is a significant publication of PPP in foreign scientific journals. The geography of publications testifies to a wide range of scientific interests and the demand for the experience of our colleagues outside Kazakhstan.

Teachers of the department contribute to the promotion of domestic sociology and maintain a positive image of the department in the media space. Teachers Salikzhanov R.S., Dosanova G.M., Aikynbaykyzy A., and Otar E.S. recorded open lectures on sociology at the KIOR Academy (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPOKMReT66Z5zcfSDWo3rfeNJtCCCpYDP).

Since 2015, the department's staff has participated in high-tech projects. Participation in research projects indicates the high qualification of teaching staff and subsequently provides an opportunity to use the results achieved for academic purposes.

The department actively runs a scientific and methodological seminar, within the framework of which discussions were held on current sociological topics.

 

The department is working to establish connections with existing and new partners from far and near abroad, held meetings with representatives of the University of Tartu (Estonia) on participation in the summer school on social work and the formation of partnerships within the framework of the EP “Social Work”, as well as with colleagues from Fergana State University. In the second semester of the 2022-2023 academic year, visiting professor Kehinde Clement Lawrence (Walter Sisulu University, South Africa) was invited to give lectures and conduct practical classes in the bachelor’s degree program “Sociology” in the course “Social Deviance and Technologies of Social Control”. During the same period, classes were held on the course “Sociology of Science” by senior teacher. Tercan Nurfer (Türkiye, PhD in Philosophy). In the 2023-2024 academic year, Professor Yildiz Ferrat (Kastamonu University, Turkey) was invited to teach courses in the master's and doctoral studies of the EP "Sociology", who is currently teaching classes in the disciplines "Possibilities for managing migration processes", "Leadership", "Cyberspace: transformations and their consequences" (master's degree) and "Immigration and transnationalism" (doctorate).

An important event was the scientific seminars “Modern Sociological Theory: in Search of Discipline” and “Return on Education in Kazakhstan” organized by Dmitry Serebrennikov (IPP EU in St. Petersburg, scientific director of the School of Sociologists KSL) and Elena Chechik (CIANO EU in St. Petersburg ), May 19, 2023 (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100040609886423).

On May 17, 2023, Professor Nuri Tinaz of Marmara University (Istanbul, Turkey) conducted a scientific seminar on the topic “Social Research Methods - Quantitative, Qualitative and E-Research” for teaching staff and students of the Department of Sociology (https://www.facebook .com/profile.php?id=100040609886423).

On April 13, 2019, the Department organized a round table in the format of a discussion platform "Challenges of Kazakhstan sociology".

At the beginning of this year, the School of Sociologists “Kazakhstan Sociology Lab” was launched, initiated by the El Umiti Corporate Foundation, into which young teachers and 16 students of the Department passed on a competitive basis.
