The educational program «Sociology» is aimed at training competitive personnel who meet the needs of the modern labor market at the Kazakh and international levels, possessing skills in analytical, managerial, expert, scientific research and educational and pedagogical activities.
The educational program «Social Work» is aimed at training competitive, highly qualified personnel in social work, taking into account the standards of European education and modern requirements of the labor market, operating with knowledge in the field of supervision, case management, capable of carrying out practical activities and conducting scientific research.

Also, in recent years, the faculty of the department has demonstrated positive dynamics in publications in rating publications, as well as in the growth of the Hirsch index , which indicates an increase in the scientific potential of the department.
