INFORMATION ON THE WORK DONE ON THE EMPLOYMENT AND CAREER GUIDANCE OF GRADUATES
The department meeting on September 22 created and approved the department's annual career guidance plan for the 2022-2023 academic year (Minutes No. 2 of September 22, 2022). The plan outlines the year-round activities, schools, and faculty members responsible for conducting career guidance.
Old department brochures, explanatory materials, and presentations were updated, and some were redesigned. We prepared a video in Kazakh and Russian based on the ideas expressed by the students during the lesson.
In November, career guidance was conducted at School No. 15. Students were thoroughly explained the professions of journalism and publishing, and explanatory materials and brochures were distributed. In addition to teachers, 2nd year students visited the school, providing detailed information about the quality of education and opportunities offered by the university. Additionally, the Abay secondary boarding school for gifted children conducted career guidance work, offering in-depth instruction in Kazakh language and literature, and initiated work with applicants.
At the Open Day of the University, held on February 25, 2023, a table of faculty members was prepared, and information booklets for the department were placed there. Together with professors, five students from the department worked with applicants.
During the event, visitors were given information about our educational programs. Students were fully informed about the facilities, both student and local. As a result, he spoke with applicants from the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science, including the Journalism, Publishing, and Media Arts programs. At the end of the event, 15 students who chose our profession were left alone, talked, and toured the TV studio and radio studio of the main building No. 1.

On November 11, 2022, an "open day" for our faculty was held. It gathered participants in online and offline formats. It was attended by students and teachers of schools #64, #8, and #9 of Astana, the dean of the faculty, heads of departments, and faculty members. Thus, the head of the department, Amangeldy Meiramovich, informed the applicants about the educational programs and explained the specifics of the specialty of journalism.
At the 1st city robotics festival named after Alikhan Maksut, "RoboZerde-2023," held at our university in May, the department's table was placed in the counseling area, and counseling of applicants and interested students was conducted.
Work was done with 1st and 2nd year students and department supervisors. Applicants from their hometowns and regions, as well as their schools, were contacted. As a result, the work with the regions intensified. Today, Begaidarova J., responsible for the career guidance of the department, gives consultations by phone and WhatsApp.
In June 2023, an online meeting with applicants was organized. Dean of the Faculty Sak K. and Head of the Department Shurentaev A. were present at the Kazakh department meeting. The dean gave the applicants advice, from the rules of the creative exam to how to prepare and what literature to read.
The staff of the department, such as Yesdauletov A., Ishanova A., and Smailova A., consulted applicants wishing to enter the Russian department and shared the secrets of entering the journalism department, and Emtsova A. explained the criteria for writing papers.
2022
On March 26, 2022, "L.N. JSC, "Gumilyov Eurasian National University," held an open day called "Talapker 2022.". The organized event was attended by university rectors, deans of faculties, heads of departments, teachers, school graduates, and parents. About 600 school leavers from Karaganda, Pavlodar, Atyrau, Akmola (Talapker, Koyandy, and Kosshi) regions, Taraz, Aktau cities, and 89 schools in Nur-Sultan city came to the meeting. The school graduates were provided with extensive information about the educational programs of higher education institutions and told about the work of the admissions committee. Also presented was information about the new format of UNT and changes and additions to the rules of admission to higher educational institutions in the country.
Students had the opportunity to get acquainted with the educational programs of the higher educational institution in the foyer, where a special exhibition of the faculty was organized. The graduates were shown the educational and scientific achievements of our department, TV studio, and radio studio.
The creative exam requirements for 2022 applicants have been updated. Currently, 15 points are awarded for the subject "Academic Literacy," 20 points for the subject "History of Kazakhstan," 45 points for each stage of the creative exam, and the final grade of the creative exam was approved to be 90.
2021
On March 11, 2021, an online meeting with applicants was organized by the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science of L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University. During the online meeting, the conditions for taking the creative examination, the procedure for submitting creative works by applicants, as well as tips related to the evaluation system, were discussed.
The questions of applicants in different directions were answered by the Dean of the Faculty, K.О.Sak, responsible for career guidance. M.B. Toktagazin, A.B. Smailova, heads of departments G.Ashirbekova, S.Duysengazy, and I.Rystina.
The L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University held a meeting with applicants in the "Palace of Independence" on May 24, 2021. At the meeting, teacher Smailova A.B. was on duty and gave advice to the person responsible for the career guidance of the department.
We updated the requirements for the creative examination for applicants in 2021. At present, the subject "Reading Literacy" is 15 points, the subject "History of Kazakhstan" is 20 points, and each stage of the creative exam is 45 points. The final score of the creative exam has been changed to 90.
2020
On November 12, 2020, the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science held an "Open House" gala event. In connection with the pandemic, the event was broadcast in online format on the YouTube platform of the faculty and departments.
At the solemn event, a congratulatory video of the rector of the university, Sydykov E. B., and vice-rector for academic work, Ongarbaev E. A., wished the applicants good luck. Then the event continued with the welcoming words of the dean of the faculty, K. O. Sak, heads of departments.
The 3rd year students of the Department of Printing and Publishing told the applicants about the educational program and achievements of L. N. Gumilev Eurasian National University.
A total of 85 people watched the videoconference on the Zoom platform and 400 people on the YouTube platform. The applicants asked questions about the creative examination. We provided detailed responses to every query.
The head of the Center for Career Guidance and Testing, Kokaev O.S., presented news related to the order of work and the rules of the admissions committee.
