Professor of the Department of Journalism and media arts Toktagazin Muratbek Balhybekovich was awarded the badge "For merits in the development of science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
On August 21, 2021, Akniet Zhanysbaeva and Meruert Kumarova defended their doctoral dissertations at the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science of the Eurasian National University under the chairmanship of the Chairman of the Dissertation Council, Professor Kairat Sak.
Scientific advisers: Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Department of Printing and Publishing of the L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University Menlikul Shindalieva, and Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Department of Russian Language and Intercultural Communication Uldanay Bakhtikireeva (Russian University of the Commonwealth of Peoples). The dissertation analyzes the activities of the regional media, including the specifics of the development of the regional press, topical problems, and the impact of current political processes on the Kazakh audience.
A doctoral dissertation by Meruert Kumarova was written on the topic "Problems of the Effectiveness of Information Policy in an Open Society." Scientific advisers: Ulbosyn Yessenbekova, Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor of the Department of Television, Radio, and Public Relations of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (Republic of Kazakhstan, Nur-Sultan), and Doctor of Philology, Professor Tatiana Lebedeva (Director of International Programs at the Institute of European Public Relations, France, Paris).
On May 3, 2018, by the decision of the Committee for Control in the Field of Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (order No. 703), the lecturer of the Department of Journalism and Media Arts, Toktagazin Muratbek Balkybekovich, was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor.

During the academic year, the research work of undergraduates and students of the Department of Journalism and Media Arts was carried out within the framework of educational programs, under special programs. Students were approved to participate in scientific and methodological events and olympiads.
